With it's ability to block out 100% of the
sun's light, Millennium Sunguard® is ideal for curtains in
all bedrooms and, in fact, any room where effective light
control is wanted. Millennium Sunguard® is a timeless fabric:
it's subtle self-pattern makes it suitable for most styles
of decorating, from the very modern to the most traditional.
The supple "handle" of Millennium Sunguard® ensures that it
not only feels soft, but drapes beautifully too. In addition,
the large colour line in the range will enable you to find
the right shade to coordinate with almost any decorative scheme.
SUNGUARD® LINING: Millennium Sunguard® uses
thin-film coating technology, giving excellent light control
without a thick, stiff coating on the back of the fabric.
This thin-film coating means the fabric is much softer to
touch and drapes better than multi-layer coating. Millennium
Sunguard® will not only darken any room but will also help
to protect the face of the fabric from the effects of sunlight.
Sunguard® foam lining will also assist in insulating your
rooms, thus keeping your home cooler in summer and warmer
in winter.
LIGHT CONTROL: If you require a high level of
light control in your rooms, it is important to ensure the
curtains have a generous overlap around the window. Most of
the light entering your room will come from the top, bottom
and sides of your curtains. To reduce light entering the room
from the sides of your curtains when they are closed, the
track on which you hang the curtains should be wider than
the window, ideally by about 30%. This will also allow the
curtains to open clear of the window when you want the light
to come in. Remember, too, that full-length curtains will
give much better light control than sill-length curtains.
In addition, pelmets will reduce the light entering from the
top of the curtains. Light can also come in through the stitch
marks where fabric drops are joined. If you want to eliminate
this, ask your curtain maker about "French seams", but be
aware that they may cost a little more to make.
